I’m going to start taking my xtandi Monday after my PSMA scan. How long will it be before I will see any results, days or weeks?

Everyone responds differently to medication. If you start to get hot flashes, it's working.

Took me several months to see positive results take effect, during which time my oncologist also had to lower me to half dose (80mg) due to adverse events (I'm not a big man so it made sense). It will be 3 years this fall and luckily it's still working 🙏. Of course, results will vary for each individual. (Lupron/Xtandi combo here , both started within a month of each other.) Good Luck, it's good medicine.

Hello, We left on a lengthy South America cruise right after receiving my first batch of Xtandi (enzalutamide) pills. We were two weeks into the cruise (Lima, Peru) before I was able to do a blood test. The effect on my PSA was dramatic. Needless to say, two very happy campers for the rest of the cruise to Rio de Janeiro. That was in September, 2017, nearly five years ago. As mentioned before, different people have different results. Good luck!

Hi RyderLake2

Great response to Xtandi 👌

May I check with you: what is the dose you took on your cruise, any side effects cause I’ve heard that it thoroughly fatigues you but brother you were awesome going on a cruise while on it, my hero 🥰

My best to you 👍

Hello Haniff, Four pills (in the evening) taken every day. It didn’t seem to slow me down.

It usually takes a couple of months to reach maximum effect.

Hi my husband started Enzalutamide when his PSA was 55.4 and in 6 weeks it was 2.91 and then went further down.

3 days and my first hot flash. Wow! Was it a hot flash. But it didn’t stop the swelling in my pelvic or clear up my lymph node’s for 3 months. Really thought I was a goner. Xtandi saved my life. Undetectable for 6 months and currently on vacation. Scary this vacation. But so far so good. Knock on wood.

It became effective for me in less than 60 days. Psa went from .8 to <.1. I cut back from two 80 mg pills daily to one due to extreme fatigue.

My husband started 4/24/22. PSA was at 8. 5/12/22 went up to 13, 6/10/22 (Friday) it has gone up to 33. He is at advanced stage MCRPC. I don’t know what to think at this point. We’ll find out tomorrow. Good luck to you 🙏
