Immunotherapy has been used for years in the treatment of cancer, but in the treatment of prostate cancer, it has not produced the desired results.
Below are some abstracts from the publication of Swedish researchers:
"New type of immunotherapy may pave the way for better cancer treatments"...."In our study, we`ve developed a new type of immunotherapy in which specific antibodies activate the macrophages so that they support the immune system and kill cancer instead" ... says the study`s author Mikael Karlsson, a professor in the Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology at Karolinska Institutet. The study was conducted in collaboration with Rockefeller University in New York.

First let me say: the top banana is very flattered to be mentioned like this!! I've read about it since my father is being treated at the same hospital. We have two upcoming meetings with Swedish doctors (one at KI) who are both researchers and I was going to ask more about this regarding my father's potential future options (oligometastatic Gleason 9 with bone mets). Do you want me to ask anything more in specific?
God dag,Thank you for your post. Swedish researchers are very active in finding new treatments for cancer. The current level of treatment is high as well. I`m sure your Dad is "in good hands" and doctors will do everything possible. Sweden is one of the few countries in Europe to have proton therapy.
My request is that you write to us from time to time about the follow-up of this study and about possible other clinical trials in your country.
Hej jag är svensk I live in Stockholm please ask if they want someone to try the method on! I will not sue them if something goes wrong! If they are not allowed to do that, when could it be used in a research trial? I have a Gleason 9, spread to the lymph nodes and suspected oligometastatic.
