Doug.I have just started 3 days ago HYPER brand Ionic Zinc 10 drops in a cup of water after applying Clioquinol 3% cream to 2x2 inch area on the right thigh.

Before I was depending on Red Onion Juice 1/2 cup for Quercetin as Zinc Ionophore

My PSA is 0.3 so It will be hard to know if Zinc chemotherapy is doing more good or not.

We will wait and see.

Thanks Learn....what do you think of this?

Subacute myelo-optic neuropathy

Clioquinol's use as an antiprotozoal drug has been restricted or discontinued in some countries due to an event in Japan where over 10,000 people developed subacute myelo-optic neuropathy (SMON) between 1957 and 1970. The drug was used widely in many countries before and after the SMON event without similar reports.[7] As yet, no explanation exists as to why it produced this reaction, and some researchers have questioned whether clioquinol was the causative agent in the disease, noting that the drug had been used for 20 years prior to the epidemic without incident, and that the SMON cases began to reduce in number prior to the discontinuation of the drug.[8] Theories suggested have included improper dosing, the permitted use of the drug for extended periods of time,[9] and dosing which did not consider the smaller average stature of Japanese; however a dose dependent relationship between SMON development and clioquinol use was never found, suggesting the interaction of another compound. Researchers have also suggested the SMON epidemic could have been due to a viral infection with an Inoue-Melnick virus.[10]

Yes .I am very familiar with this debacle that happened in Japan and have read a lot about it. The doses of clioquinol were oral and hundreds of times the safe dose. Dr Leslie Castello et al used only Topical , very small amount of Clioquinol 3% cream in their research study. I am willing to take that risk as to me risk seems miniscule ,if at all. If anything I feel, I will drop it instantly like a hot potato. But One can always use Quercetin in high doses thru natural foods like red onion, capers, peanuts etc. No risk at all with Quercetin.

BTW, this debacle reminds me of PHENFEN debacle...FDA banned it saying it causes serious cardiac side effects only to re-approve Phentermine after 20 years . It was found that the Japanese company used a dye in the capsules which was responsible for the problems.

Also, clioquinol cream is used for Eczema in over a billion people worldwide. Never heard of any adverse reaction.

Cures PCa and Covid??

Yes. Recent reports say very very positive things about Zinc+ Ionophore therapy in Covid19 cases. The Fukchi's of the world messed it up other wise in many countries they are still using Zinc + Hydroxychloroquin and getting results as good as remdesiver. Politics of profits can trump even good research.

Hi LearnAllMay I ask where you sourced your Clinquinol cream from?

A friend uses it for his eczema. He brought from overseas and gave me one tube (30 gm)

Thanks. I guess I need a friend with eczema lol. I had organised to get some from India but then COVID struck and that put pay to that.

You can get 3% Clioquinol in 30g tubes over the counter in Mexico under brand name of Cortifung for about $6/tube. I also had my dermatologist write a script and got it made at a compounding pharmacy for $150 for 100 grams.

I did that regimen for 6 weeks (3% Clioquinol cream and daily Hyper zinc) and my PSA went from a stable .08 to .16

What's wrong with simple zinc supplement pills?

LearnAll profile image
LearnAll in reply to cesces

Simple Zinc does not get inside cells easily. In order to kill diseased cell ,Zinc need to get inside the cells. Ionic Zinc with an ionophore can do this,

Tried it...got an increase in PSA.

Thanks for the info. Do you think it’s possible that you got a flare in PSA because it was actually working I.e. cancer cells dying? Anyway good to know you can get it over the counter in Mexico. Unfortunately just a bit far, and at the moment impossible, as we’re in Australia. I’m wondering if when we can travel to Indonesia again we can get it over the counter there. I expect so. All the best.

Simple zinc pill from Costco or Walgreens daily for me. Cheap.

Be careful with supplements. Some can interfere with you Docs SOC therapies. Too much zinc is not good either.

Supplements are also like medicines . One has to use all safety precautions.

Hi all - I am Swiss based, and could get 3% Clioquinol cream from the pharmacy (with doc prescription) - Brand name is Betnovate C, which also includes 1% betamethason. Not expensive I believe (bill went to insurance :) ). Standard use is for skin issues / fungi I believe. I also got them to order (from Germany) another type called Linola sept, which has only 0.5% clioquinol and no steroid. Quick google found an online (German) source, shop-apotheke.com but seems German-language only, and not sure how it would work with a non-German doc prescription. But inexpensive.

I started the zinc and clioquinol on Oct. 7th, doing about 0.5g Betnovate cream (leg/groin) and 60 mg zinc (glycinate), AM then PM. Will get blood values checked late next week to see if anything changes. Costello claims that zinc is cytotoxic to PCa cells. So by getting plasma zinc levels up and transporting them into cells should be "good".

I chose the zinc glycinate because it is inexpensive and easy to order. Guess the "nano" zinc discussed in various posts should be better.

Note: I am not officially "advanced" but assuming steps to reduce main cancer and micro-mets is a reasonable precaution.

My dermatologist warned me off formulations containing steroids. Hence the compounding of 3% clioquinol....or the much cheaper Mexican Cortifung OTC 3% clioquinol cream (no steroids).

I get bag of zinc oxide and dissolve 60mg in a bit of ascorbic acid for 50mg zinc dose. Dirt cheap (eBay). I put a little of this in green tea through the day with extra EGCG added as the ionophore. If I take more than 10mg of zinc as a single dose it comes back with some force. I sprinkle Quercitin on my breakfast cereal (more ionophore). I do zinc a month on and a month off to try not to end up copper deficient - zinc and copper are on the same bus... Cheers

Has anyone using zinc had a drop in PSA?

JPnSD profile image
JPnSD in reply to ck722

I had a jump in my PSA from .08 to .16 after 6 weeks of the Clioquinol cream and Hyper zinc regimen. Now on ADT (Firmagon) and PSA is undetectable after 30 days.

Sorry to hear it did not work. Perhaps it might work for select others.

Note the combo of clioquinol as an ionophore and zinc was recently documented to help in the case which was metastatic, hormone-resistant, post RT and post Lu-177 treatment. But the (claimed) key was to suppress prolactin (done with Dostinex).

Citation: Costello LC, et al. (2019). A Novel Patient Case Report to Show the Successful Termination of Untreatable Androgen-independent Prostate Cancer:

Treatment with Cabergoline (Dopamine agonist). Mathews J Case Rep 4(1): 42.

This is only one case. Does anyone have info on similar cases?
