Have a close friend treated at Dattoli, he was not impressed with them. DART is, as TA said, another name for radiation available in many places.
If your insurance covers it, consider scanning beam proton therapy. Much more precise with less healthy tissue involvement than Dattolis center can offer. A consult with an RO at a proton center might be worth looking into.
wilcoxsaw mentioned proton therapy. I have messaged with the doctor in the link below and read some of his posts. I would highly recommend contacting him if you consider proton therapy. He is as honest and caring as any doctor could be.
Hi Helvi,Tall Allen asked “What do you plan to irradiate?”.
I am curious to hear that exchange.
Several Snuffy Meyers patients went to Dattoli, but at some point there was concern about large T cell killoff.
I have been told by 7 Surgeons now- NO!
2 Radiologists have told me Space Oar not an option due to bladder and rectal proximity of PCa. Radiology only for future pain mgt (keep in back pocket for later use). With any lymph nodes outside the pelvic region, they will say no curative reasons for radiology.
I am investigating IRE (electro magnetic current) to preserve tissue, but kill PCa cells. Reducing the Tumor burden to buy time makes sense to me.
Could you please respond to Tall Allen? You will find his response very complete.
