I'm nervous and always heard that when it hit's the bone it become very painful. I appreciaiate hearing some feedback. Thanks

I was dx July2, 2018, stage IV, G8 with bone mets (ribs and pelvis). Zero pain to date.

As long as Nubeqa stops the cancer to progress, there will be no pain.

Not necessarily....Bone scan showed bone mets BUT I have not experienced any pain yet. Its been over 8 months.

I think if bone mets are superficial and has not penetrated deep into spongy part of bone..the pain remains absent. Once mets start digging deeper and reaches spongy part of bone and starts touching bone marrow...body cries with pain.

You can deal with bone pain with radiation. How were you able to get Nubeqa through insurance if you were metastatic on a bone scan?

I was approved for 2 months free and my onc said if it's working we'll find a way.

I have mets to spine (T7) and had pain for many months, sometimes acute. Tried several painkillers (NSAIDS) and then had radiation therapy with very significant positive effects.

Read the posts below and consider SBRT to your mets.

No problem you will for sure know when you get mets pain. Mine was excruciating for months but many here and in my other support groups report no pain. Go figure...

Good Evening, if you don't mind me asking what was your treatment plan.

I started out with a Firmagon shoot

Then toxaterea (6 rounds)

Then Provenge (3 rounds)

Now Lupon (every 6 months)

Bicalutamide 50 Mg (casodex) 1 per day

Xgeva shoot every 3 months (was every month first couple of years)

2 calcium pills per day

I also have switched from coffee to Tea (one of my teas is Turmeric) I also put a turmeric capsule in 2 of my cups of Tea, so 2 capsules per day.

I tried to change my diet (limit meat - but if I want it I eat it, just tried to cut back). I stopped using milk and switched to almond milk for my breakfast cereal (my cereal consist of cut up apple, banana, strawberry’s, flax seed mill, granola and almond milk). Lunch normally consists of black beans and black rice, and for dinner I have a salad and whatever my wife makes for dinner. I still go out and have a beer with my friends and if I go out to eat, I eat what I want. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions Glenn.

I had a bone met when I started Erleada almost two years ago (not on Erleada anymore) the bone met never hurt, and the remnants can still be seen on a bone scan, but the Erleada knocked it out. Nubequa is supposed to be even better than Erleada...

You’re going to be ok, and if pain comes, they can zap it with radiation

I was dx 7+ yrs ago with Gleason 9, PSA in mid 40s and a few bone mets (2 on vertebre, 1 on acetablum (hip) and possibly 2 on my ribs. I did have my acetablum radiated 7 yrs ago, but NOT because of pain. And, I haven't even taken an advil for any bone pain since dx. As you have already read from responses above, people can have bone mets without pain for many yrs. I hope that ends up being the case for you. Last thong, I do think the radiation has left me with some loss of flexion and when I flex it too much, I do feel some pain, but that ends up being momentary. It's also possible it's a result of arthritis.
