Need Info on AR-V7 Gene
It's definitely positive, but I don't think it means a lot for you right now. You are going to stay on ADT which is working for you now and that's the most important thing.
AR-V7 is positive in less than 1% of primary PCa. It becomes much more prevalent after castrate resistance. It's important when you are looking at the effectiveness of second-line ADT drugs like Zytiga or Xtandi, but should not be an exclusion for trying them.
AR-V7 is something that usually develops as a result of pressure from treatment so you will need to have this checked again after you become castrate resistant.
ty, gregg57, I have appointment with MO this Friday, he mentioned going on xtandi before I had my scans two months ago now he's talking zytiga instead ??
I've been on Zytiga for just over a year now and haven't noticed any side effects. It's keeping my PSA undetectable. Can't argue with that.
That's good news. It's only bad news if you do have it.
