Yes, you should be using the generic. If you really use Zytiga then Jannsen has a program for those with commercial insurance and your copay will be $10. If you use the generic, then go to abirateronesavings.com/pati... Apotek offers a $5 copay, again only if you have commercial insurance. No medicare and no government insurance allowed. It's amazing how much the companies are willing to swallow in respect to payment assistance. It's not like these drugs are a $50/mo maintenance drug!

Generic zytiga is abiraterone. We found using a coupon from GoodRx for this generic saved a lot of money.

Also you might wish to read the posts here and perhaps talk to your MO about considerably reducing the amount taken by taking it with a low-fat breakfast. Even NCCN guidelines mention that now, I think. (My husband’s MO is supportive of this once his PSA lowers a bit more. )

(I assume you have already checked whether you could get approved for free or discounted drugs by the manufacturer of Zytiga )
