4 year anniversary since becoming stage 4

It has been several months since I’ve posted on my disease and seems coming to some crossroads in terms of treatment options.

2019 started hopeful being in the Vision trial and having my PSA drop from 110 to 0.4. However by end of year my PSA was back to 13.4, so short lived success. Started 8 rounds of Taxatere last December and finished in May with PSA rising during the last 2 cycles. PSA rising so after meeting mo yesterday I will be starting Xtandi.

I know I still have multiple treatment options and am still in overall good health and spirits. The people on this sight give so much support, advice and humor to all of us it makes treatments tolerable knowing we’re not alone in this fight.

I’ve promised my wife another 20 years so I have to do my best to keep that promise.

Peace

well....very similar here (except for the trial you did)...Did Taxatere and my PSA dropped from , I think, 5 or 6 ish...down to .85. (lowest it has ever been) but just after a couple of months on just Lupron it jumped back up to 3 or 4...so started Xtandi (and did Provenge) and it's stayed fairly low...gradually over the past 3 years gone back to 6 ish...and started a round of radiation to the 3 spots that showed up ....hoping for really good news...but it went down from 6 to 4 to 2 to (month by month) back up to 2.35 to 2.65 to

here is actual chart I kept:

02/06/20 6.50

Radiation to begin on 2/26/20

03/13/20 6.08 (during radiation)

After Radiation

04/21/20 4.35

05/19/20 2.29 (yeah)

06/16/20. 2.37 (boo)

07/16/20. 2.62.(latest)

it seems like (as you) every treatment works...but just for a short while...and the helium in my PSA rebounds and it's UP UP & AWAY. I'm not going up a LOT ....as it seems like you're still staying way down below where you started...so I'd say we're doing well. Xtandi is tough, but do-able....I didn't have much problem...but I've been on it for over two years now...and starting to feel some things more. Hopefully you'll do well on it!

p.s. sorry that seemed badly written...just wanted to basically share we seem similar...and Xtandi (although it sounds terrible) at least for a while is not so bad (in my case)...and hoping for you as well.

p.p.s. I keep staying hopeful that new and GREAT things are on the near horizon.

p.s. (again)...I just looked at your profile and reminded myself (again) ...it's a brain fog thing...that you really are "in sync" with me sort of....we both started Jan/Feb 2014. It's been a very busy 6 years....for us both....with all the treatments, Dr.'s visits, etc. Good luck with the Xtandi.

Nalakrats,

We radiated the spots we found, and continued ADT, I should have added Xtandi at that time as well.

I’ll keep hitting it hard!

According to the CARD trial, Cabazitaxel would be the right choice. There is still a cross-resistance between Zytiga which you took before the Vision trial and Xtandi, which you plan to use now. You could use Xtandi after Cabazitaxel.
