Coagulation Cascade blood tests-to do or not to do? Even on Xarelto blood thinner?

Well, I've discussed my Cancer blood clotting status with my Med Onc last Tues, my cardio-NP this Tues, and my complex managed care insurance RN Monday. Two out of three said or implied that i should/could have a Coagulation Cascade blood profile test(S) labs done. My research from guys here mentioned those could be: 1. D-dimmer 2. Prothrombin Time 3. Partial Thromboplastin Time 4. Fibrinogen Activity or Fibrinogen antigen plus 5. CBC(complete metabolic profile)

Do these tests sound appropriate as a baseline? Especially since I'm an avid Xarelto blood thinner med taker since Feb 14th. My PCP family medicine doctor can order these or appropriate combination of tests I'm told.

You saying I should not have the Coagulation Cascade labs as a baseline? My MO defers Cancer clotting to my Cardiologist. Although he is a Haematologist. I’m confused.

Yes sir life is confusing. I'm doing a superb job of mind over matter(s). I would be well to start taking some beginners yoga classes, more meditation focused and slow down my Prednisone energy level.

Maybe the encouraging news, maybe is I switched to a cardiologist interventional specialist this Tues @ my cardio-NP visit. Yes I asked for a different cardio doctor, my main one is up in his late 60' maybe early 70's.

Ok, now i have 1) a much younger cardiologist 2) interventional trained(?) 3) advanced training in peripheral vascular disease, aortic aneurysm's 4) a very positively oriented nutritional focused health conscience doctor, that's a plus. Looking at his bio CV he's blood coagulation proficient.

And i know him as a member of my Church family.

A health diet nutrition doctor?

Be careful what you ask for.

Thanks for supporting me Nalakrats.

I just curious. I wonder what are you planning to do with all the data.

You are already taking anticoagulants. Xarelto has been a good anticoagulant for AF in the clinical trials. It could also be used to treat and prevent DVT.

Well tango65... you hit the nail on the head, so to speak. ‘What is depotdoug gonna do with all that medical research data?’

My Cardio - NP a nice well versed lady told me Tuesday ‘I’m protected’

My EP nice professional well knowledgeable cardiovascular electrophysiologist told me ‘I’m protected’ keep taking Xarelto.

My super PCP physician more well versed in handling blood clotting conditions than I am. Told me I’m protected, my chances of cancer clotting blood issues are very minimal.

Guess I’ll read digest your XARELTO link you sent me tango65.

1st time for some Skinny Popcorn 🍿.

Best of luck on this journey, Depotdoug.

There are data about new oral anticoagulants (NOAs) in PUBMED. . Most of them are reasonable safe and effective. If you get the studies done, some of them may be abnormal because of the Xarelto. Ribaroxaban, ends in xaban like apixaban (Eliquis) because they inhibit the X factor of the coagulation cascade. You can try to figure out which ones could be abnormal.
