There is no easy blood test to check someone’s level of immune suppression, but being in active chemotherapy, having low white-cell or low lymphocyte counts and/or taking immune-suppressive agents (such as prednisone) are all associated with immune suppression and increased risk of infection.

I'm fairly sure a dose of 10mg or less of Prednisone will not cause immunosuppression. Unless you are taking more than that, it's probably not an issue.
But chemotherapy causes low WBC and also low ANC which is of concern, particularly around day 10. I don't know that we can do more than taking precautions. Keep a close eye on your body temp and if it goes above 100.4 you are supposed to go in. I don't know that we can do more than that.
