Veterans from the military around the world are invited to share their thoughts about the relationship of their military service to their current diagnosis and treatment for prostate cancer. I am curious if there are similar concerns among military veterans from different countries.

Darryl: I have been to several of your meetings. I am now living overseas.

PCa survivor of 10 years ... Vietnam vet.

Thoughts? I accept the evidence that an abnormal number of Vietnam vets suffer from various illnesses due to the use of toxic chemicals during the war. I so very thankful for the VA since I receive all of my treatment there. They provide an excellent service.

I was stationed in Nha Trang in 70-71. Nha Trang was one of the main places AO was stored. Over the years I’ve kept in contact with twelve of my buddies. I was number ten to get PC.

Robotic prostatectomy in July, 17 and 40 doses of radiation the following May. PAS undetectable since then. The surgery and radiation were performed by my civilian doctors. G 9 with margin involvement and no Mets.

The VA has been very fair with me. I have filed claims for the residual effects of the non-Hodgkin lymphoma I had in 1990, also finally filed for tinnitus, PC and depression in 2017. all were approved within a reasonable time frame.

Good luck to anyone unfortunate enough to get this curse. Remember, many of us do survive.
