Hi there. Has anyone experienced lung problems while undergoing Cabazitaxel chemotherapy?

Cabazitaxel and lungs
Are you taking an antihistamine with it?
No, he is not. He had a scan and there were a lot of infiltrates. Doctor got some tissue samples to check for infection. We are waiting for the cultures. We hope that it is an infection because if it is from the chemo he will have to discontinue it and it is working well. The chemo might be his last option for treating this awful disease. Thank you.
The Cabazitaxel prescribing information discusses the adverse effects associated with drug, "Interstitial pneumonia/pneumonitis, interstitial lung disease and acute respiratory distress syndrome have been reported..." For more information:

From what I could find out, these issues seem to better with Cabazitaxel than other Taxanes such as Paclitaxel and Docetaxel.
Thank you so much for the information. I looked up the side effects but did not find anything about the coughing.
From what I could read, it was not reported in the trial for FDA approval, but reported later on. Looks like it's an uncommon side effect. Another thing that's possible is that it doesn't have anything to do with the chemo.
Chemo also lowers your bodies infection fighting abilities. Cabazitaxel is a little worse than Docetaxel in that area.
Thank you so much. He is going to start a course of Prednisone. We'll see what happens. We hope he can get back on Cabazitaxel because it was working.
