Haven’t posted for a while, but have been following. Most of you know more than I do.
Getting Vaxchora, the cholera vaccine, was a bit of an adventure. My MO read the European study I referred him to, asked me if I was really going to a cholera infested country soon (I said yes), and then rolled his eyes while he ordered the script. When I asked about getting god dewormer, he said he would see me in 3 months. I was told that Walgreens could get the drug, and it took them 2 weeks. Cost was $270, no insurance coverage. Ten. Minutes after I picked it o\up I got a frantic call from the pharmacist asking me to return it, because FDA approval is only through age 64. I told her I already took it, and she said she would call me back, but she never did. I had no side effects from the drug, which is a live virus oral vaccine
I remain PSA undetectable, 18 months, and 6 months after I stopped Lupron/Zytiga. The bad news is that the prednisone taken with Zytiga apparently controlled my “radiation colitis.” Within 3 weeks after I stopped the prednisone I had diarrhea all day everyday for 3 months until we started to figure it out. Back on a different steroid now, but this is still a work in progress.
I have developed some minor urinary leakage. It comes and goes, so I am trying to be more responsive. Still taking\ tamsulosin.
Question about my serum T level - it was at 7 when I stopped meds, and went to 19 and 50 on two tests since. Is that normal?
To all my brothers on this site, a belated Merry Cheiistmas and Happy New Year. My wish for the new year is that I don’t have to read any more obits about our brothers in this fight. This site has been a vast source of knowledge and comfort to me.
