Hi,

Best wishes for Christmas and a healthy 2020 to all members. I have been on Xtandi for two years, my psa has gone from 3.5 to o.03. Not much in the way side effects. However recently my blood pressure has been very irregular accompanied by headaches . It swings from high to low. I decided to leave Xtandi off for a few days. The difference is amazing much clearer head, BP has stabilized and I feel I have more energy. I will enjoy the holidays and then resume Xtandi. I had a feeling my body was being slowly poisoned. I did read recently that somebody had been advised by their doctor that had suffered extreme side effects to stop Xtandi for one week then start again with two tablets and then four after a few days.

Landcrab, thank you for your best wishes, but I am not healthy and I never will be healthy again. I think this is the case for all members. Anyway, best wishes for Christmas to you and a Happy New Year!

I dropped to 80 mg a year ago last June. I was a complete invalid and noticed improvement within 3 days. Still on 80 mg dose.

Merry Christmas to all of us who are on this journey, family, friends, and the doctors too! I have been taking Xtandi for four months. Got a grant to help with the cost- an early Christmas present! My psa has been < 0.2 and my testosterone 20 - 30. My MO says rejoice! And I do, but I wake up with a headache every morning, my blood work shows slight anemia and I hit a wall of fatigue every afternoon. I started B vitamins, afternoon naps and eating more protein. Has not helped much. I still work, so I am grateful for that. I guess I have reached another new normal, like the hot flashes and getting up to pee every two hours at night. As I hear a lot, getting old isn't for sissies.

xpbdb, I also woke up to a headache every morning. Since stopping Xtandi I feel great but of course I need to start again soon. It's been a welcome break but obviously need to start again. I will start with two tabs then three. at least I given my body a break over the festive period. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply landcrab. My headache goes away after 600 mg Ibuprofen and a few cups of coffee. A small price to pay for something to stave off the devil that lives inside me. I am still a newbie to Xtandi, so as long as it still works and the grant money holds out I will adjust to yet another new normal. Merry Christmas! We get to see 2020!
