Very interesting study here.

I sent it to Ed Friedman as well and he was very intrigued by it.
Trying a readily available and cheap Cabergoline seems like a no brainer if the PCa has become hormone independent.

Taylor123,
Thanks for posting this interesting study. Does every Androgen Dependent cancer become Prolactin dependent at some point OR prolactin dependent cancer is only a subset of all prostate cancer ?
I plan to get my Serum prolactin level checked to find out my baseline prolactin level to compare it with future readings.
Any fellow member who has answer to the Question:
Does all androgen dependent cancer becomes prolactin dependent later at some point ?
The study suggest that prolactin reduction would only be beneficial once the PCa was hormone refractory.
Has anybody on here tried it once they were PCa was hormone independent?
That means if we are androgen dependent and responding well to ADT then, there is no need to mess with our prolactin level especially if prolactin level is within normal limits.
However, checking prolactin once to know baseline level seems a good idea ...for the sake of comparison in the future if prolactin starts rising . I just ordered serum prolactin ..it is costing me only $46 (self pay)
Just a thought, people with PCa & Parkinson's would not go into the castrate resistant zone?. Due to their medication.
Also if I understand well, XY needed Lu177 prior to prolactine inhibition... or maybe ADT + prolactine inhibition in the Hormone Sensitive phase would work?
Also, lowering prolactine levels early would avoid ginaecomastia, which is an issue doctors don't pay much attention to, but which can be annoying for many men.
This treatment should be tried in some mice ASAP 😃🐀 I would do both hormone blockades simultaneously.

I'm planning to have a go at it after my radiotherapy is finished in mid Jan. Professor Costello is very communicative and supportive and suggests having plasma testosterone, prolactin concentration and Circulating Tumour Cells measured before and after treatment which looks like about 7-8 weeks.
I guess he wants to see more n=1 (guinea pig) trial volunteers. I have sourced the prescribed drugs through a Dr where I live in New Zealand. Quite cheap here. Subsidized I assume.
I have recently been diagnosed with 'Treatment Related Large Cell Neuroendocrine Prostate Cancer' after 21 months on Zoladex since Feb 1st 2018 and Docetaxel chemotherapy May to Sept 2018.
