"Right To Try" law and Lu-177

President Trump signed a nationwide law into effect that might provide a pathway to treatment with experimental drugs and therapies. The devil is in the details. How long does the process take and how is payment calculated and arranged ? People contemplating foreign travel to get Lu-177 treatment should maybe contact Novartis, the LU-177 patent holder in the U.S. and sponsor of the phase 3 "Vision" trial NCT03511664 and see what they have to say.. One glitch I see is that only the big research hospitals have the expertise and facilities to administer radio-pharmaceutical compounds like Lu-177..

"Right-to-try laws are U.S. state laws and a federal law that were created with the intent of allowing terminally ill patients access to experimental therapies (drugs, biologics, devices) that have completed Phase I testing but have not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)."

I would certainly like to know more about this. I'm sick and tired of butting heads with my oncologist.

Right to try is mostly a pr stunt.

The pharmas are by and large intensely disinterested in it.

With few exceptions, it just doesn't fit into their business model.

Without their voluntary participation there is no right to try.

If you see some politician prancing around bragging about it, you should go out of your way to vote against them the next election.... for attempting to mislead you with hocum legislation.

You may have the right to try it, but the pharmaceutical companies don't have to provide it and I don't think insurance companies have to pay for it either.

So it looks to me like it's something that sounds good, but doesn't work in practice. I'd like to know if anyone on this forum has been able to use this law to get drugs that are not yet FDA approved. Please post if you have.

I guess I have the right to buy a drug from India if it come down to that. Didn't need the passage of a law to do that.

I'm thinking by the time they agree to provide you with the treatment, you will be dead from the disease you are seeking treatment for..But...You don't know until you try...

I just created a post to see if anyone here has been able to take advantage of this law. I think a lot of us here would really like to know.

Your right is to go to another country and pay for treatment out of pocket. 😂😂

Love that man. About time we have a chance to use what is a norm in Europe. Doctor told me when I was diagnosed that if I live long enough there might be a silver bullet that we could use to stop this monster 🙏🙏🙏
