RP, ADT, Radiation plus Zytiga/prednisolone?

It’s tough when you’re staring at such a long program, I know... and even more so when the ADT is messing with your head too. The only upside I could ever see was that whatever random little cells of PCa were lurking around were getting it both barrels... and that felt pretty good!
Glad to hear your Zytiga issue is resolved and you’re set to join the great experiment... hopefully that will suck the life out of any that the radiation and conventional ADT might just miss.
I wish I could say it’s a doddle from here on in - and I did find the radiation went a lot faster once I passed the halfway point - but the ADT seems to drag... hopefully it will all be worth it!! Good luck with the rest of the RT, it’s a big milestone you’re about to reach!!

Thanks, Stuart. Just started feeling the gastric side effects, diarrhea mostly. No real decision about the addition of Zytiga yet. Really weird thing happened when waiting in gowning room; older man said that he had gotten some but they decided not to use it and he gave me 7 bottles!
Was the older man an Armenian who's last name was Kevorkian? If it was, don't be a bozo....dump the stuff...
Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

Hi TE, I just finished my 15th day of IMRT and so far no side effects. My MSK doc recommended Metamucil (I take 5 caps a day) to control diarrhea and no coffee. So far I’ve had ADT (Casodex with Lupron and now Lupron with Zytiga, with a side of predisone). Brachytherapy (April 26th) and have completed 15 days (of 25) of IMRT. Bottom line, no side effects and I feel great. Hang in there and don't despair! Gleason 9, stage 3.
I hope the lead doctor is an RO..Just my opinion, I would hold off on the Zytiga until you are sure you need them.. When you pile on treatments you are piling on side-effects..
