Anybody else else finding themselves tired and exhausted during the PC Radiation Therapy Sessions. I am no 6 now and XTandi, any suggestions to build energy during this period?

Whats your Gleason score ? Your last PSA number ? Maybe you could stop the Xtandi for now until the RT is completed. Try walking a mile a day, drink lots of water..

I saw my Radiologist every 5 days during my sessions. Have you talked with yours yet? Common side effect is fatigue.

My only sign of APC prior to my Urologists diagnosis was fatigue nothing else. I had a prostatectomy followed in 3 months with 38 sessions of radiation. I was whooped doing it all!! I rested all the time. To me having radiation was like a job. Everyday I had to be prepared by emptying, filling and being at the right fluid level so they can start radiation. Never had to leave the table once I laid down to start. So good there!

My Radiologist said rest when I needed and work on recovery after my sessions.

Did just that.

Possibly it's the ADT that is causing the fatigue.... I went through a couple months of EBRT and was working full time plus at the time but was not on ADT... Lots of people said I would be fatigued but I don't recall any such symptoms..... but... we all react differently

I had a great deal of fatigue after my radiation treatments.

I underestimated how much it can take out of you. I was subjected to abut 79 grays - nearly the max - and it took months before I could say I got MOST of my energy back.

What you are feeling is typical post treatment. You'll get better soon enough ....

I had radiation therapy as a primary treatment, along with 3 years of ADT2 (Lupron and Casodex). Every day during RT I'd feel vaguely dizzy and a bit tired afterward. My wife drove me to and from the apppointment, about 45 minutes each way. So on the way back to the office after each one I could get about a 30 minute nap. This let me continue work throughout. Each day I'd feel pretty good in the morning, leading up to a repeat of the RT fatigue. Wash, rinse, repeat....

I asked a tech about it. She said they theorize that while you can't directly feel radiation even at these therapeutic levels, your body can sense the tissue damage from it. That causes the fatigue, your body's way of saying, "slow down, you need to heal".

For what it's worth (my old post):

I've posted before so to those people who have already seen this please forgive me.

I had 8 weeks of salvage radiation to "the bed". 5 days a week (not weekends) for 8 weeks minus 1 day for a total of 39 sessions. The actual radiation was like getting an x-ray by my dentist. I never had any side effects during the whole 39 sessions. However 2 years later my left urinary tract was "fried" as per my urologist (or from passing prior kidney stones he was not sure). So i had to have a urinary stent placed up my urinary tract (through my willy which is really nothing - sounds terrible but it's nothing) to aid in passing my urine (which was never a problem anyway). So I had stents in and out every three months for many years and now I'm stent free, However today 15% of urine from left kidney and 85% from right kidney, but not a problem. So make sure you get a good radiologist.

Absolutely NO FATIGUE ISSUES...

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.
