My first session took me 10 days to the hospital for an important sepsis.

The second one I made 8 days ago. The only side effect has been a great fatigue that started on day 3. Today on day 8 it persists. A lot of weakness, fatigue and thick head. It is normal?

Wow, 10 days, I'm sorry! I have heard the tiredness is normal, but varies in intensity from person to person. Hopefully things will get easier as you go

This should get better as the chemotherapy progresses. The first few treatments knock the Pca for a loop. All those dying cells put out a lot of toxins in the blood stream.

I'm sorry to hear you had such a serious infection after your first infusion. I had my second infusion of Docetaxel on May 10th and my experience with both infusions so far is that I have a couple good days following each infusions, then about 7-8 days of total fatigue, loss of appetite, etc. It seems that my days get increasingly better starting about 10 days out from the infusion. I regain a bit of taste, a lot less fatigued and sleeping a lot better. I hope you soon have this more positive result.

My understanding is that it can be different for each person, but I certainly hope for both of us it improves. Good luck!

My husband had 6 sessions of Chemo, and got through it very well, mild "constant" headaches, Fatigue ( mild still, after last session in Jan) Had a dry mouth, OC can give gel for that . Pins & needles in feet, stopped at end of chemo. No sickness, Hair loss, wore a cool cap, so didn't lose hair on head. Loss of taste, now back to normal. Loose big toe nails, but didn't come off, keep an eye out that if this happens don't let infection get to them. Inform your OC,

All in all it went VERY well, not half as bad as we thought. When he had his scan, the Chemo had worked very well, so well worth it, hope it does for you too.

Take a friend or family with you if possible, drink lots of water, rest....

fatigue, weakness, and brain fog are also symptoms from the sepsis and recovery. Your body just had the fight of its life with sepsis. This could be a combination of the sepsis and chemo because it sounds like you are being hit hard.

My father took about 3-4 weeks to get rid of the fatigue, brain fog, and weakness from the sepsis.

My Oncologist insisted on adding Filgrastim, self-injected 3 days after the Dosetaxel infusions to boost WBC count and avoid infection. My "Chemo Crash" also came on day 3 and lasted 5 or 6 days..I lost my hair after the second infusion and had some moderate Nuropathy where your hands and feet get numb and stay numb..The toenails on my big toes fell out..It worked for about 4 months..Switched to Jevtana (Dosezitaxel) and got better results with fewer side-effects..But that's just me...Everyone is different..

4 cycles in, 2 days feeling ok, then 4-5 days feeling as noted above (but not too severe), then I start to pull around. Most of week 2 and 3 I feel good and many of the chemo symptoms start to clear up. Then off we go again :-) 1st cycle was the hardest, 2 -4 less so and similar in intensity. Lost some hair, and it's still thinning out. Bought hats.

Overall it's been way less drama than I thought and seems to be very effective

Good luck
