SIDE-EFFECT & INTERACTIONS

A couple years ago, following treatment with Cyberknife, I developed an inflammation of my bladder. I don't recall the technical nomenclature, but I do recall the pain--up every 45 minutes to an hour all night long.)

The Urologist threw a bunch of stuff at it, but there was little relief. At that point I went off surfing on my own and reviewed the drugs I was already taking, looking into side-effects and interactions with other drugs.

And there it was! The blood thinner I was on was Savaysa and in the secondary list of possible side-effects was bladder lining inflammation.

I immediately contacted my cardiologist. He checked it out switched me to Eliquis and the bladder cleared up within 48 hours.

B U T...I should not have been the one to discover this!

Nonetheless, it has prompted me to ask others here to reply to this post or add a post of their own if you know of lesser known interactions and side-effects to watch out for.

Just goes to show you that doctors don't know everything. Always do your own research and check out everything you doctors prescribe.

Great job saving your own ass. Darn urologist .. No bueno that you had to suffer unduly .. It seems like you know more than your docs . You know what they say “ when you’re Drwrite your right” That pain that you decribed made me cry for ya .

So great that you took the time to let us all know! Reminds me of when I had a rash. Told MO and she said strange, none of the drugs you are on would cause a rash. I researched and they all could cause a rash. Still don't know what caused the rash. Mostly went away. But now with weather changing, I feel it may make a comeback.
