Thought that I would share that I am continuing to rock along with non-medicated undetectables. T hanging at 658 helped along with Androgel. Life is good. DX’d with Stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer on May 4, 2004. Lucky that I had no co-morbidities and elected to get very aggressive. Keep kicking the bastard.
Congrats rock on gourd dancer. How much does testosterone level matter to fighting the disease? Are you on anything but androgel and does androgel give you back lost testosterone? Are you on supplements? Aweome to see a happy post. Needed the inspiration.
Supplemental only. Without use, T will drop. In thee days about 60% and to 5 or so with 7-10 days. For me artificially increasing T is simply to make me feel better with more energy and weight lost ability.
That is amazing. Are you currently on meds to lower androgens. My dad is on zyruga and psa down to.08. Never went below 4 with chemo, immunotherapy lupron snd exgeva over 2 years no tumor regression but only one grew slightly larger thats when he switched to zytiga and steroids. Without the steroid he cannot walk or fuction, but with it most days my god, does he fight and do more than a person without cancer does, but he cut sugars and carbs and can't lose weight. Would you say to ask his doc apt this or with steroid is it not permitted? Sorry so many questions. I am always grateful how you embraced me in community and informed me and continue to inspire me and my dad. He just wont spend time on the board, because he is so busy. With my grandpas death, he seems to be wrapping things up in case anything happens, gave up family business etc, but says has to have things in order. It is scaring the hell put of me. Whether you do or do not celebrate a holiday weekend, i wish you a happy today, tomorrow amd many tomorrows.
Always good to see people beating the odds and doing it using an game plan that involves a large dose of "out-of-the-box" thinking. Congrats on the Continued Excellent Results! Keep on Kicking the Bastard and Taking Names. Be Well - cujoe
Thank you Cujoe. I understand the difficulties involved with co-morbidities and a large tumor burden. Yet I wrestle with why treatment for newly metastatic guys who have watched their PSAs annually since age 40 and stay with a progressive protocol designed to extend life. I personally disagree with the standard methodology by patient and Physician alike.
It’s no rodeo, but hitting the disease hard with systemic treatment was only logical to me. I was very fortunate to find someone in academia and research who was looking toward the methodology which I enjoyed. It is a frequent conversational topic between me and my treating medical professionals. They just say someday.....
I know that we all wear different shoes and the degree of body strength and tumor burden dictates treatment; yet ..... I guess I never have been willing to wait and delay. Korea and Vietnam are the lessons. The outcomes of Germany, Italy, and Japan are possible with a “Big Stick” thought process. At what point is anyone willing to very aggressive when their backs are against the wall? But I digress.......
I remember well the detailed description of your treatment protocol you provided a year or so back. (I copied it into my PCa treatment reference folder for future reference.)
You've been Kickin' Like A Mad Mule for a very long time now. No reason for you to do otherwise! Be Well - cujoe
Thank you John. I have sung with Thunderhill. The song is a Pa-dau-gea. One of the closing Mustang songs of the Kiowa Gourd Dance. Yes, very happy when I sing or dance the Kiowa Gourd Dance.......
