Times are changing and it's refreshing to see these studies. This type of find will alter the course of future treatment. Nal and Patrick have been on to this for some time. Everything about it makes sense. Our current treatments are dated and hopefully more of the heavy hitting research centers will start trials of their own. This along with imaging will be a major player going forward with this nightmare of a disease.

Great stuff!

Getting an MD to administer BAT is next to impossible. Some guys have done DYI BAT, there is a thread on this board about it.....

Article is not about Bipolar Androgen Therapy it's about a testosterone replacement therapy after diagnosis. There is more information all the time showing low T and an imbalance of hormones including estrogen may be a major factor in the cause of prostate cancer. Low T may be what drives high grade cancer. Since 1941 the thought behind T and prostate cancer has been like putting fuel on a fire. More recent studies are showing this may not actually be the case. That could open some doors to a whole new era of treatment for this disease.

I was giving a thumbs up, and need to comment. Umm, medically speaking the body, even cancerous, still seeks some degree of homeostasis. Rules of Chem 101 similar in concept to "mass action", are in effect. The cancer empirically "eats" DHT, so the T source is wiped out. What would be expected, some attempt to re-establish hormonal rebalancing. Would relief of this biolgical stress relief, to some degree, be wrong?

I don't think so.

ADT clearly works in many cases, so super low T levels are one way to fight prostate cancer. But what if the cancer has an optimum level of T where it thrives? Anything above or below that level would cause the cancer to atrophy. If that optimum level is somewhere between 0 and normal levels, that would explain why both ADT and T replacement can work. It would be analogous to watering a plant. Too much water is as bad as none at all.
