Are the checkpoint inhibitor trials too disappointing to try to wangle some Keytruda injections immediately behind Provenge? What are the details surrounding the genetic marker test, and has anybody bypassed it or know the stipulations involved?

Thanks

Kaytruda is too dangerous and expensive to use unless the genetic tests reveal it might be effective. With PC, only a very small percentage will benefit. With most PC patients it's simply not effective. The risk is there but not the reward...

Why do you say kaytruda is too dangerous? My father’s oncologist was able to get my dad Kaytruda for free even though he didn’t pass the genetic testing and he is going to start it on him next week. My father is 80 years old and metastatic cancer all over his bones. Kind of running out of options....doctor claims it doesn’t have many side effects and might be worth it to try

Keytruda is available to anyone with the genomic abnormality MSI-Hi/dMMR, which is very rare in prostate cancer.
