Israeli scientists say they think found a cancer cure

Sounds great, but I’m skeptical. Let’s pray that it is true, and not just to good to be true like many other promising cancer treatments and so-called cures. And if it is true, that it can be fast tracked into FDA approval. And if it is, that our insurances including Medicare will cover it. And if it is, that the manufacturer can produce enough of it quickly enough so that it is readily available to every cancer patient in the world...a monumental task given that in 2015 in the USA alone there were over 15 million people with some type of cancer. And every year, worldwide, nearly 13 million new cases are diagnosed, and nearly 8 million will die from cancer. The numbers are staggering, as are the logistics for producing and distributing enough of the “cure” drug for everyone in need.
As hopeful as this article sounds, I’m not ready to get my hopes up that a cure for PCa (or any cancer) will be available in my lifetime. I cringe and take a step back every time I hear of someone offering a cure for cancer, in particular for advanced prostate cancer, with which nearly all of us in this forum are afflicted.
The clock is ticking, a little faster for us than for healthy people. If this cure is true, will we get it before PCa gets us? A cure that is 10 years from being viable does us no good, but maybe it will be like the AIDS virus cocktail that has made that horrible disease a chronic one for most people afflicted with it.
Hate to be negative, but the odds aren’t very good for this cure to save us.
That being said, I think I’ll go out and hit some golf balls this morning. 🏌️⛳️😎. Life is good.
Good. But we don't know the side effects yet. It will cure our cancers but may make all of us les mutatos.
