Bed wetting

Having issues with frequent urination and occasional bed wetting. Maybe its time for diapers. On Zytiga and prednisone, and oscal. Stage 4, spread to the bones, lymph nodes and organs. Psa was 800, down to .1, into this one year and happy to be alive. Pain in ribs or gall bladder bad at times. The bed wetting is upsetting. What to do..

Are you restricting fluid intake, especially in the evening? Also, no fruit juices (incl. cranberry or pomegranate), caffeine, or alcohol. Have you discussed with your urologist?

I haven't restricted fluid intake in the evening. Drink coffee, never alcohol and rarely fruit juices. Will discuss this with my doctor. I am a very deep sleeper, Thanks for the advice

Frequent urination can be symptoms of cystitis, or the inflammation of the bladder, I suggest you to have an examination in the hospital, and if it's confirmed to be cystitis, you can take some natural measures to cure it, such as natural therapy of diuretic and anti-inflammatory pills, acupuncture, etc.

May sound strange but if you reduce your drinks as Tall Allen suggests but increase water intake this may help.

Thanks, I'll try this

Not sure it suitable for everyone but I was advised to try and hold off from peeing a little each time. This helps expand your bladder and so you pee less.

The more you go the more you need to go !

Still taking the Pantoprazoie? Lots of coffee may be it. Hope it is something simple. I rarely get deep sleep. Quit coffee years ago but remember it could really have me looking for a bathroom. I'm having a minor blood pressure issue now. Leaving Celebrex out for a while. But now ache in morning but goes away after moving around. So if you have minor bone aching Celebrex may work for you or others. Just watch BP. Good luck.

Yes I drink too much coffee, usually in the morning. I'll try cutting back. Thanks

Depends, Depends, Depends.

Double up on depends when you go to sleep. QUOTE "I am a very deep sleeper" Set your alarm to wake you up in the middle of the night so you can wee. Place a couple of heavy towels under your body when you go to sleep. I used to tie mine in a knot, now I use a cork.

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

Towel sounds good. Or depends, a cork? I ask my rather large friend (6' 2") what time of day does he buy his depends. I said, "do you go to Walmart at 2:00 in the morning to buy them?" He says "Hell no, I go to Giant Eagle on Saturday about 2:00 PM when they are packed" he said "I stack that cart up half way to the ceiling and whistle and smile at everybody and plow my way to the register". OMG. I couldn't quit laughing..

We tell my husband he has to call them underwear not diapers. Mindset is everything. My husband also wears the nighttime Man shields inside his depends.

As an occasional user of diapers, I suggest putting aside the thoughts causing your concerns and use diapers as needed. Hopefully the issue will self resolve or a doc will figure out a better solution.

Be thankful you haven’t been hit with other similar issues. My largest unexpected problem was a severe case of salmonella. One week in hospital and 3 more weeks to recover. I used plenty of diapers and cleaning items. Horrible.

May not apply at all to you, but I ran into a local post-RP PCa patient who was having incontinence issues while sleeping. (& apparently not at all during day.) He got tested for sleep apnea, got the CPAP machine, and that solved his problem. Might be worth discussing with your MO?

Good Luck & Be Well - cujoe

The most common cause of frequent urination is urinary tract infection...if the urine smells foul or looks cloudy, then there is a chance this is your problem. Diabetes could be part of the problem--it causes frequent urination. Did the cancer end up in your bladder? This could be another cause...

Some places to start...

Best of luck,

Fish

One last thing---do you feel thirsty all the time? Gotta get a drink??(polydipsia) or feel hungry and eat all the time (polyphagia)... In diabetes, they talk about the three polys--polydipsia, polyphagia, and polyuria (peeing all the time) If that sounds familiar, see your MD for fasting blood sugar and possibly a hemoglobin A1C...people on zytiga and prednisone need to watch....

Take care,

Fish

Thanks for the info. yes my sugar is rising. I guess from the prednisone? Going to my general doctor tomorrow. Bp and sugar are high. Been on a diet, down to 225. 215 is normal for me. Never been on any type of insulin for sugar. Thanks for your information. Much appreciated.
