quick rundown on the #'s.. scheduled to start RT (44fr) on 10/22/18 so got 6 mo Eligard shot on 8/28.. at that point "T"= 232 PSA =22.50.. a month after the shot my T=39 and PSA=8.67.. got my 44 treatments from 10/22 thru12-27.. random blood draw on 1/10/19 showed T=236 and PSA=3.68. a re draw at a different lab on 1/19/19 showed T=187 PSA 3.67 even tho there is a 50 point difference between the 2 last T tests (at different places) the 187 is still way too high, (my URO agrees).. also odd was my SE from eligard stopped at about 3 months.. waiting to hear back from my RO ,, but the big Question I have is what can be done about it now? If they were shooting for a cure and a 3 month shot was accidentally given instead of a 6 month (very likely). how will it change the outcome? Compared to some extreme cases on here my questions seem piddly, but was hoping to gain some insight as to whats ahead. Ed
Expected outcome if Eligard shot fail... - Advanced Prostate...
Expected outcome if Eligard shot fails before RT is finished
Can you switch to Firmagon?
Will find out if the RO will call back.. right now he controls everything. Odd to me tho is the eligard worked good. took shot on 8/28 and by 9/20, "T" was 39.. weird. Ed
As you said, they probably made a mistake and gave you the wrong dose.
Read a Trial somewhere, study RT with ADT had 12% fail as opposed to 18 or 20% for RT with out ADT, for intermediate risk.. I guess worst case I'm somewhere in between.. Ed
Hi TA. Well RO agree that HT has failed, (blaming it on the VA) but their not sure what to do about it.. I'm thinking of asking to be checked for Leuprolide in my blood, and if its not there, just requesting another round of HT. with my original "unfavorable intermediate risk" they were contemplating longer than 6 mo of HT anyway. I knew of another man who received the wrong dose, to his painful experience. I was on Zoladex three month shots and Zoladex doses come in different colored packaging to make it easier to be certain of proper dose. My three month shot was a blue box and blue insert and I always looked to be sure the professional had blue packaging in his/her hands in the administration room.
