Thanks for the update John. I just finished chemo and have been considering trying the 7x version of BIRM but have been reluctant to do so until I get my next PSA. My MO is not hot on the idea, but he's not the one with cancer! .
How many months have u been on Xtandi? 2 consecutive rises can happen sometimes, wait another month for another PSA test, it might drop again.
It happened for my father but he is on Zytiga, he never made it to PSA 0, lowest was 1.98, currently around 2 and luckily it stays always there for the latest 8 months. Sometimes it bounces up even for 2 consecutive months but goes always down the third month and holds there at 2.
I believe Nalakrats uses Birm...message him....Do a Birm search on the posts...I have not seen any claims that PSA went down using Birm...did see the article below:
Thanks for sharing your experience. Have been considering adding BIRM.
Hope you next scan gives you good news! My husband has been lucky in that he has been able to get radiation to kill his bone Mets several times. Knocking it back with radiation gets him 6 months to a year. He is on Lupron and Xdandi currently.
I did great the first three months on Lupron and Xtandi...and then my PSA started going up slowly...Was hoping BIRM would help hold it down...not showing that so far, but like I said, I feel better and have more energy and strength. All the best to you.
I'm surprised xtandi hasnt worked more effectively. I was under the impression it added a couple years to PSA suppression. How long have you been on lupron?
Xtandi and Zytiga can be effective from 6 months to 6 years according to our MO, with the average being 1-2 years, some patients can do well for longer though if the drugs are given at diagnosis.
All varies by individual and I think Gleason Score has nothing to do with the drugs efficacy, every patient is unique. My father has a G7 and Zytiga still works for him after 8 months.
My experience with iP6 may serve as a useful lesson. Dr. AKM Shamsuddin points out several times in his book that IP6 was "dose-dependent" and "time-dependent" in the experiments under review. I personally found that was the case. I could not "move the needle" with a particular dose of IP6, but when that dose was double i got results. My urologist couldn't understand why my PSA was declining. He also could not understand why the nodules on my prostate had disappeared. I had not shared with him that I was taking IP6. When I moved to Florida my urologist would not accept the notes in the medical history. He had to do a DRE also he insisted. Finally, he admitted there were no nodules detectable.
Herman_PSA reports the same event with his physician on healthunlocked when he increased his IP6 dose. Your prostate his physician told him "was smooth as a table top". He also had normalized his prostate cancer cells.
The BIRM dose may need to be increased. (I know nothing about BIRM so there may be an issue of toxicity for you to determine). I note that you take it after meals. Could there be possibly a bioavailability issue? Have you tried it on an empty stomach? What are you mixing it with?
Hello my dad is having this test and our doctor really didnt explain much of why or what it will tell us not much info online can y0ou please help thank you, Olivia
are you talking about the Axumin Pet Scan? if so...it's one of the newest and BEST pet scan tests for seeing prostate cancer that has metastasized into other part of the body. My regular pets scans all came back negative UNTIL I had this one...then I had multiple mets in pelvic lymph nodes and in pelvic bones. It's done like a regular pet scan except the "axumin" is injected RIGHT before you're moved into the machine. Just should drink lots of water after any of these tests...and there are some fasting and NO drinking and NO gum requirements for a few hours before.
