Axumin scan

Does anyone know if we can be on hormone therapy, Lupron and Xtandi, prior to an Axumin scan? I thought I heard no ADT before Axumin scan.

I was on Lupron immediately after my RP, and had an Axumin scan 18 months later. So, no, there is not the limitation that you describe.

You are right that it is a poor idea to have ADT if you are going to have an Axumin scan. Axumin depends on the metabolism of amino acids by cancer cells - ADT shuts that activity off. The ability to find metastases goes up with PSA and shorter PSADT, so ADT may render mets invisible.
