I came across this regarding beta-sitosterol, but nothing further regarding PCa potential benefits. Curious why there's not more on this, if anyone knows.

Jeff,
There are a number of prostate studies that mention β-sitosterol, but they are almost all BPH studies - not PCa. The interest in β-sitosterol is due to its presence in saw palmetto [Serenoa repens].
Countless men with PCa have tried saw palmetto after diagnosis, and that's the problem with β-sitosterol I think. Interest wanes once they realizes that it is a major component of saw palmetto.
But, for all I know, Nalakrats doesn't really go to Florida each year to fish - he may be poaching some high-grade saw palmetto right now.
One issue with saw palmetto supplements has been the great variability in the amounts of active components. But one can get standalone β-sitosterol.
