What is the recommended statin dosage?

Didn't see it in the article...

Probably the recommended dosage for whatever statin you’re taking. I take rosuvastatin which is 40mg. daily

I'm on 20 mg Simvastatin daily. Nice to bump into an incidental potential benefit along the way, aye? Thx.

Good article, thanks. Dr. Myers wrote about this in his book, another example of him being way ahead of the curve. In it he wrote how PCa will turn to converting cholesterol into testosterone when deprived through ADT. So best to keep cholesterol, especially LDH at low levels. The trick is not to drive it too low since your brain needs it to function properly. For those of us with cognitive issues this could compound things. I was taking 20 mg of Crestor, during last consult with Myers we reduced it to 5 mg since cholesterol levels were so low due to Mediterranean diet, exercise and statin.

How long before the body looks for substitute?

I don’t believe he puts a timeline in his book, only that it’s one of the routes PCa will take when deprived of T. So the idea is to shut it down as many of these routes as you can - this is Snuffys strategy.

Here is a related video, one of the last ones he did before retiring.

Does lipophilicity matter? Crestor is much more potent than simvastatin, but not as lipophilic.

Snuffy Meyers recommendation is rosuvastatin which is good enough for me
