Atypical Cells

Hello All,

Just had a second opinion done on my biopsy slides. Originally diagnosed as Gleeson 6. One of twelve cores at 11% volume. PSA is 1.0. Second opinion is that cells are really "atypical" and not cancer. Have had a clear bone scan. Dr. Still wants me to have a 3T mpMRI in early Feb.

What can anyone tell me about atypical cells in prostate?

Thanks

It means it’s not clear whether they are cancerous or not. Usually redo within 6 months.
