Xtandi dose question

My husband forgot to renew his xtandi prescription before the weekend. He takes 4 a day normally. He has three pills left and won’t have more until Tuesday. He is very worried about going without for a few days. I advised he take one pill a day so he doesn’t go without it at all but he wondered if anyone had any other advice? Thank you!

Yes it would be better than nothing in my opinion. I had to drop my dose to 2 per day due to the side effects and psastill dropping. I wouldnt worry to much about it.

Hi, I’ve been on xtandi for about 2 yrs. I’ve been in the same situation. Tell your husband not too worry and he’ll be fine. I’ve gone without meds for a few days until it arrived, I was fine.

Xtandi has a a fairly long half life so levels in your blood stream don't decline rapidly. If it were me I'd take one a day till script arrives.

BTW, I also had to reduce the dose to 2 per day due to SE's becoming too difficult after being on it for over 3 years. I've been on 2 per day for 6+ months now and PSA still undetectable, SE's have lessened but still pretty rough a lot of days.

The half-life of Xtandi is long enough that which ever route you go - 1 a day or 3 at once - won't really make a difference. Just get the script filled as fast as you can and get back on the 4 a day.

I am one of many on 2 a day because of SEs. The SE's can be rough. Take as much as you ca, but not more than 4 a day, as long as it works.

3 one day 2 the next. (100mg average) Takes 28 days to reach steady level in blood stream, so one a day for a few days shouldn't hurt a thing... Lucky to be able to handle full dose..many of us can't.

Phys. Ther. and balance again suffering. Cutting back to 90 mg. again. (two for 3 days, three for 1 day). Was on this dose but Drs wanted me to try to increase again. Didn't work, Taking as much as my body can function with
