I start hormone treatment on Friday. For 2 months before radiation. And the 4 months after. I have been told that in most cases of men my age (55) I will bounce back. Is this true?

Within a year after a 9-month course of ADT after surgery, testosterone was back to normal in 93% of men. Radiation may depress testosterone production for a year too (it did for me).
The study to which Tall_Allen refers is encouraging for those of us who are on relatively short courses of ADT (9 mos or less). There was a correlation between higher T level before ADT and how quickly you bounce back, which is another factor that favors young guys.
I think the word bounce would be better if it was replaced with eventually. Read about the side effects your T will drop to next to nothing and you will experience almost every side effect listed. The radiation will cause some fatigue, but you will already have learned what fatigue means. It works to lower your PSA and slow the pc growth.
Use this site for encouragement and feedback from first hand experience. Always remember that your experience will be unique to you, but similar as well. Hope this helps.
Exercise , especially resistance (weight) training makes a huge difference in patients on hormone treatment. More energy , no weight gain, no loss of muscle mass. That was what I was told and I’ve worked my butt off three times a week in the weight room. I actually feel pretty darn good. Highly Recommend it as will most of the guys here who’ve tried it.
