All that follows is totally anecdotal. I have a friend who has been having PSA done since January 2017. it has hovered around 1.5 all this time. he takes Truvada to prevent AIDS but he feels like this drug boosts his immune system and helps keep the cancer under control. He did not get a prostatectomy. He goes to MD Anderson and they have done at least two scans on him--in 2017 and this month. MD Anderson "can't find where the cancer is" so he is on no medication other that Truvada. I assume that MD would use the latest scan technology. I just wanted to throw this out there as a FYI.

Now THIS is interesting...and, even though, as you suggest, this is anecdotal...it seems logical!

It could easily have hovered around 1.5 without doing anything at all. He'd have to stop using it and then see what happens.

Truvada does not boost the immune system - it contains two anti-retrovirals: tenofovir and emtricitabine. They selectively inhibits viral reverse transcriptase, which is an enzyme needed by the HIV virus to reproduce. They act on the virus, not the immune system.

I take Truvada, and I'm very careful about what I put in my body- i research that particularly.
