Some help here, if you please. My readings here have indicated that Zytiga is MOST effective when used "early on," rather than later.
Is my impression correct?
I am presently fighting with the cancer center I visit over possible relapse. I need to be able to reference studies, if possible. They are flippant about "You can live for years on Lupron."

The LATITUDE and STAMPEDE (zytiga arm) showed an additional survival benefit for early use of Zytiga along with primary ADT such as Lupron. You can do a search on either of these trials for more information.
I joined the Stampede trial six and a half years ago, and my PSA is still immeasurable from a start of 571. Then, it was a new idea of combining two testosterone suppressants. The combination stops both testes and adrenal glands from producing testosterone, so both pathways are blocked. If taken early it seems to work incredibly well, as long as your liver can withstand the Abiraterone.
Hi I’m a year in to Zytiga as first line treatment my PSA is undetectable and I hope to have the kind of results that Tommy above has had. My full history can be seen on my bio. 👍
It’s such a shame that Janssen won’t reduce the cost of Abiraterone. Here in the U.K. it’s £2840 a month. In the US I think it’s around $10,000 a month. Same drug in India is $900 a month. Given how effective Abiraterone appears to be, Janssen just want to screw us to stay alive. I wouldn’t mind, but they didn’t even develop the drug, that was CRUK from charitable donations. CRUK sold them the patent, and now it’s been turned down in the U.K. by NICE as it’s too expensive. Sad.
That's sad Tommy but it's not cheap here either monthly cost approximately$18,500.00 my medical insurance pays about$10,000.00 of that and Janssen excepts all but around $600.00 that my cancer advocate group picks up. I don't know about the UK but in the USA we have cancer advocate groups to help. Best of luck. Leo
