Dear Gwt1,
My husband took Xtandi for 2 months. Side effects horrible. He quit. Tried again for another month one month later and quit. Everyone is different but it took him a few months for the side effects to leave. I believe his moods took even longer. Wishing you a fast get away

My dad was in the same exact situation. He took xtandi after 2 years of zytiga. xtandi didn’t work for him and psa kept rising and he also had very bad side effects. The side effects went away after starting chemo. Good luck.
Good Monday Morning gwt1,
Been in this battle for almost 6 years (please see bio for complete treatment history)
Took Zytiga for about 18 months and then Xtandi for about 12 months. There are some cross effects so you get less time on the second drug of this pair.
Two of my prostate cancer buddies, each with bone mets, started Xtandi first and have been on it for years, and in each case, their PSA is not detectable.
Third prostate cancer buddy had bad side effects from Xtandi (pain), stopped it and it took months to get back to his new normal.
Every one is different. Hope you get relief soon.
Best wishes. Never Give In.

I have been on Xtandi for about 4 months now. My side effects include a little nausea, some insomnia, and some pain that adds to the insomnia. My medical team suggested cutting the pills back from 4 a day to 2 or 3. I chose 3, and it was tolerable. Then a got a MMJ card from Florida and now I can sleep without pain. I suggest you explore both options with you MO. Best of luck. Xtandi can work well.
