I was diangnosed with Prostate cancer in 2009 and did nothing until I noticed changes in my urinary routine and some discomfort when I pushed on my Ischum tailbone.
Treated with just Casedex for 6 months till PSA started rising, than for the last 4 months have been receiving Deralix injections monthly. Last month PSA rose from 6 to 8 and Oncologist recommended Xtandi. I am retired on Medicare A and B plus have AETNA prescription service. My cost for a month's supply of Xtangi will be $2,200. Quite a bit for someone on a fixed income. Any thoughts.

My Xtandi comes from CVS Speciaty Meds. My Uro submitted paperwork for a PAP (Patient Assistance Program?) and I now have $0 co-pay. Perhaps a life saver for me. Another delivery to my doorstep today!
I checked my latest insurance statement, and there was nothing there about Xtandi, so I have to assume that CVS Specialty and the company behind Xtandi, Astellas. covered it all. The clinic I go to has a person who handles all of the paper work so basically I never see it. I did get a letter from Astellas saying I needed to have Part D coverage, but the Astellas program was outside of it. That's all I know. Your Doctor has to initiate the request I think. Good luck!
Thx Beermaker. I was able to get the co pay down to 0 most likely through the same assist program however it will only cover a few months worth and than I will need to fill out a company form to see if I qualify for company assistance
My co-pay would have been $2500 a month but was able to get some assistance when I called the company’s customer care phone number that Rich’ said I should do
I am assuming that you have more than their acceptable amount of income to qualify.
Check out report on YouTube: ABC15 Canadian Med Store for lower prices. There are many scams, this is not one of them.

My most expensive drug is zytiga. Looking over costs for 2017, initial cost was $2900.00. That amount put me in the catastrophic coverage which made by monthly cost for the rest of the year at approx, $450 per month. My drug provider is Express Scripts.
