Welcome to the group. Sorry that you have advanced cancer but I am happy for how long you have fought it. Please keep up the fight!

I also have Stage four (13 months). My PSA was never that high, but that is because I have a rare form that does not raise your PSA. If you do not mind, any insight you can share will be of great help.

I am Dennis and have been in the fight for 66 months PCA with bone mets. I am like Dr. Who. My PSA always is always low around 2 or 3. My Gleason is at 9 aggressive. Welcome to the group and I hope you stick around at least another 166 months than quit because we're all cured. Welcome aboard.

Hi and welcome Todd (I'm PSA 180 at DX now 7 gleason 8 stage 4) nearly 3 years into my journey. I always listen intently to survivors such as yourself especially lifestyle as I am convince it helps. By listening to people like you I am now a vegetarian(incl no dairy) regular gym and swimming pool attender together with all sorts of diet and suppliments (pomi T, turmeric selenium as well as mountains of cooked toms and walnuts). Treatment to date ADT only, extensive bone mets no pain feeling fine major downside weight gain of 20 Lbs. So what I'm saying bring it on Todd tell us more. And good luck to you.

Many thanks to Todd & Chask for sharing! What terrific positivity which further encourages me, and I'm sure all members.

At nearly 68 I was diagnosed as stage 4 with extensive bone mets in '04. Many treatments included ADT,chemo, targeted radiation, Zytiga (didn't work) and now 2nd of 6 Xofigo (radium) infusions.

Through it all God and family, with talented oncologist & radiologist have been there!

Good morning everyone. Chask, I don't get on healingwell too much but even when I am there, I haven't seen your name in a while. Someone posted on a 6 year old post and I saw a ton of names of old friends. Many have passed. Sad. I am happy you are not one of them. Then again, my testosterone starved brain struggles to remember anything.

To the rest of you, thank you for the welcomes. Some of you asked specifics. I will get back to you when I have a little downtime. I do not yet know how active I will be here. I work 50-60 hours a week and have a family. I also play music and try to write on my blog. Lately there has not been much to write about. I guess that is a good thing

Wow. Age 43 or so when you were diagnosed. I've only recently been diagnosed at age 66. Keep up the fight.

Not all. Just lupron and casodex. Now on zytiga. Prostate cancer is the best thing that ever happened to me. Changed my life in amazing ways

Presently on Lupron and Xtandi. PSA still rising. Doc says one more month on Xtandi and if PSA is still rising, it will be on to another drug.

Hi Todd, I'm new here myself, to the forum that is, it's been four years since my diagnosis of PCa. I recently became castrate resistant and will be starting Zytiga next week so it was with great interest that I read your recent blog and thanks Chask for posting the link.

Hi Ron,

I just want to throw this out there. Provenge is now recommended as first line therapy once cancer has become castration resistant. Zytiga works better if Provenge has been administered first. Just something to think about.

Thanks for that, I'll look into it. I didn't mention I have bone mets, are you aware if that make a difference?

Hi Ron, currently the only exclusion is liver metastases. Bone metastases is not an exclusion to receive Provenge

I was told by my oncologist that Provenge has very little or no affect on aggressive PC...unless being utilized in trial with enhancement therapies. It takes too long for the re-engineered leukocytes to multiply. Better for men with a slower growing cancer

Hi, Welcome to the group. I am 71 years old. I have had a 0.00 PSA for 6 years, since my d-2 metastatic diagnosis with a Gleason score of 4+3= 7. I started in 2007 with 42 radiations for a slow growing cancer in the prostate then in 2011 I was diagnosed with a second fast growing prostate cancer. I was given 30 more radiations, 2 months of casodex, and Lupron injections every 3 months. I have continued Lupron and now use a generic called Eligard. Stay in touch and ask questions if you want. Welcome Todd, sounds like you've got things under control, but there are a great bunch of guys (and gals) on this site, who have a diverse range of understanding and experiences. I was diagnosed in April 2016, stage IV off the bat, with extensive mets. May we all survive this condition. Cheers.

Hi Todd,my name is Nick. I was diagnosed with stage 4 PC on March 3, 2017. I am 52 years old and in good physical condition. I start chemo- every 3 weeks for 6 dosages and hormone therapy- lupron tomorrow. This group of courageous men really has put an ease to my mind in battleling this disease. I'm so happy to be here.
