Pump Suggestions

60 yo with advanced prostate cancer. Currently treated with firmagon and trial chemo of 40 mg Cabozantinim. I am interested in using a pump for erections. I take so many pills I just don't want any more medication. Any with pump experience, would like to know which have been easiest to use and reasonable cost. Thanks!

I would recommend the Pos T Vac executive system. I originally purchased the Erec-Tech vacuum therapy system from Stamen Medical Systems in Georgia in 2009, but learned in 2012 that it is no longer in business. Check again to see if that has changed. I believe Pos T Vac took over the Stamen products. You can view the Pos T Vac products at postvac.com. I have not purchased the Pos T Vac device because the Erec Tech system is still working as well as when I first purchased it. The Pos T Vac system displayed on line looks very similar to the Erech Tech model. I have ordered supplies and replacement parts from Pos T Vac for the Erech Tech System, so I assume the two systems are interchangeable. I ordered another device (Rapport) from a large drug chain about five years ago just to see if would work better, but it was a piece of junk. I recall I needed a prescription to order the Erech Tech and it was not covered by my private insurance. FYI - I have now also started with injection therapy. There are advantages and disadvantages to both methods. Good luck! Richard DX 2008 pT3bNOMX age 52.

Hello, I use the pump and it is successful. BoMed has been a great help with phone advice. It takes time to master it but it works!

How are you doing with cobazantlnib for your prostate cancer?

At 60 mg/day it was horrible: mouth sores, extreme tiredness, joint pain, etc. dropped it to 40 mg/day and it has been relatively tolerable. So far, no noticeable migration of cells from the one lymph node in my pelvis. My PSA has starred to rise so they think it might be time to change from Firmagon to Lupron. Since it's a clinical trial, not sure if that will end the Cabozantinib. Will know in Nov.
