Titan Coloplast Penile Implant It's Great

2016 installation (-; works like charm still. Doctor called it a "railroad spike". Small pump between testicles easy to pump up and to deflate. I encourage anyone who wants to have active intercourse after or with prostate cancer to please explore it. Glad to speak with anyone who has questions.

Thanks for offering to share your intel. I'm still limping along with my original equipment, but the shrink ray is slowly winning.

Thanks for this, it’s a really helpful post. I have just clocked up two years post -sural nerve grafting and, unfortunately, I seem to be in the 20 - 30% that don’t benefit…. pity about that…. there’s been some marginal improvement and the Trimix still works really well for me, but I have thought about the implant approach too.

I have heard some men say that the device in the scrotum feels uncomfortable when not in use - are you conscious of it and have just got used to the sensation, or do you not feel it? Also, I’ve heard that the first months post-op are really painful - was that your experience? How long is it supposed to last for?

Thanks again for your really helpful post….

Stuart

Never feel the pump. When you lie on your back your unit looks like an 18 year old hard on. No problem with sensitivity. Think about never questioning your erection again in your life. At 66, it will last longer than you will. Just get a surgeon who has done a lot of them. Post op was not horrible as I knew my erection problems would soon be over.

Sounds like the YETI of implants. Do I read correctly that you had an RP?

TEBozo profile image
TEBozo in reply toFinnO

Correct. RP several years after my installation.

TEBozo, are you saying that you had the RP surgery several years AFTER the installation of your implant? Also, did you just have RP surgery, or surgery plus radiation and ADT? Thanks.

TEBozo in reply togaryjp9

Implant in 2016, RP in 2019, ImRT in 1019 , Lupron1/zytiga got 18 months

garyjp9 in reply toTEBozo

Thanks. I did not realize you could get an RP after an implant.

TEBozo profile image
TEBozo in reply togaryjp9

Yes, plus radiation

garyjp9 profile image
garyjp9 in reply toTEBozo

But you say below that you had lost about an inch in length before the implant. What caused the shrinkage if you had not yet had the RP, RT, or ADT? Does placing an implant by itself cause a reduction in length? Thanks.

Use it or lose it. WO natural blood flow, it atrophied

TEBozo is living proof of Dr Eid's suggestion that men dont have to wait for the passage of time and atrophy of their organs, to get an implant...at a point when its obvious that your treatment will forever negate spontaneous erections from ever coming back (ADT, Radiation and non-nerve sparing surgery for examples), opt for an implant BEFORE you lose size. Losing size will bother you...trust me. I waited 2 1/2 years hoping and thinking my natural erections would come back; they were never going to return...should have moved on an implant at the point I got radiation...lost a lot after that. But its never too late for others coming along behind...check out this source...

Study this and think about it...'time' is not on your side when it comes to ED... Rick

TEBozo, so you had no loss of sensitivity from the get-go? My experience and that of one other man I correspond with, is different; both of us suffered loss. My doctor told me it can take 6 months to a year to recover fully.

Also, did you have surgery, plus radiation and ADT? These are triple whamies that affect ED...just wondering. Rick

Certainly my sensitivity is diminished but i orgasm pretty fast and it's intense.

Thanks. How long after the operation were u able to O? Was it right away or did it take some time. Sorry if this is personal.

Ditto, I am now 3 months into my implant; wished I had done this way back (see my post )...

I do think that the experience with implants varies between PCa patients who had surgery, then had need of follow on ADT plus sRT (salvage radiation) vs those who were fortunate to get their cancer out without need of either. But no doubt this is the right thing to do...in fact do it as early as possible; dont wait. Loss of size is listed by Coloplast as the #1 complaint on their web site by 72% of men implanted!!! It will bug you, so the longer you wait the more you will lose.

But, if you have not focused on ED and erectile function up to now that is normal as with the SOC we have doctors dont bother or are concerned enough to bring this up. But it matters as you get down the road and realize that there is a chance you can live with this disease, not perish from it...start to think about your ED now; dont wait.

For me 3 months post-op I have numbness and loss of sensation, but that may be normal after any surgery. I am happy I acted when I did (2 1/2 years out of surgery)...definitely I would do this again, only earlier. Now I need to wait and get full sensation back...it sometimes takes 6months to a year...this little detail they dont tell you about, but it can happen. Again, there is a difference between implants to those with surgery, ADT and sRT (radiation) vs a clean, 'one and done,' treatment...or those 70% of total implants that are done to men suffering from diabetes!

I will be posting my experience with my implant; there are a lot of details the advertisements from the implanters dont tell you about...they should and they would not change your decision, but its good to know. All good though. And yes, this implant works, looks good and makes you feel 'normal' again. Rick

Well said. I lost at least an inch in length but my surgeon made up for it bt making my new erection thick.

I was almost convinced to have an implant after RP …. Then my wife had a bad case of Breast Cancer and underwent multiple surgeries, ( had one breast removed, 16 weeks of ACT chemo which almost killed her, the second breast removed, some other drug I don’t remember, then an Ooferectomy - ovaries removed.). So, she was devastated as a women to essentially be a female eunuch, and coupled with my total erectile dysfunction and anorgasmia gave me no reason to undergo another surgery! I have no sex partner, and it just didn’t make sense. Now, I have shrunk so much after all these years, I am not sure they make an implant small enough for me. Looks like a jellybean glued to a watermelon!

TEBozo in reply toCancer2x

It will end up being longer than you would think and the circumference is amazing . I was turtleing, too.

Cancer2x in reply toTEBozo

Thanks for the reply. But “longer” might be about two inches - not worth it. I have given up the ghost for ever having sex again, and would take back my cancer-addled prostate in a New York minute.

Thanks again, and good luck to you!
