Sleepy times

Bryan_Metcalf_UK profile image

Well spending more of my life asleep and needing help to get dressed and showered.

Lots of help from Macmillan nurses, OT, district nurses etc. Not had treatment since December. Recent MRI showed spread to bone marrow

Hi Bryan,

I also am needing more help with daily living and I've finally signed myself into hospice at home care. I wish that I could sleep more, I have difficulty sleeping more than an hour or two at a time. My hospice people immediately ordered a new mattress---one of those automatic air mattresses, and it's so much more comfortable, but I still need medication to help me remain asleep for longer periods.

I wish you the very best, and God bless you,

CERICWIN

Nice to hear from you Bryan! Haven't seen you in a while. So sorry you're so sleepy and needing more help. Wow....no treatment since December :(

They think Elgie has bone marrow involvement in his shoulder.....and he's stopped Casodex and started Xtandi. We can only hope they're wrong.

My thoughts, hugs and prayers for you Bryan.

Jackie

Hi Jackie,

Sorry to hear about lg's maybe issue with the bone marrow. Hope all tests are negative. No one deserves that kind of pain.

Best Luck, Joe

We don't know anything about what can be tried except the Xtandi and that's a wait and see how it works. Should we ask now for salvage radiotherapy?

Discuss this with your oncologist. Others for the future Doxetaxol and carbazitaxol.

Bryan...you are one of the strongest I have ever seen.... I wish my father has half of your courage... You are a winner... Nick

Hi Nick,

I hope your father has not given up, or given in. If I had one thing to give to any one of us, it would be a bit of humor, another one thing I'd give is a can-do attitude. I certainly wish I could go back to work, go fishing, travel, but I can't. I came to terms with my mortality, and will not let this shit get me down. I'm on the younger side of men with Pca. I'm seven years in to a 10-15 year prognosis, and it doesn't scare me one bit.

Wish you well, Joe

Thinking of you Bryan.

I'm on casodex and eligard. I can fall asleep but always seem to wake up in the middle of the night and have trouble falling back to sleep. A half dose of a sedative (lorazepam) does the trick.
