Neither should be a problem. The injection for the bone scan uses radio isotopes, so don't be surprised if it comes in the room and I lead sleeve. They need a good vein to inject it so if you have a problem with your veins don't hesitate to ask for an IV. If they're doing the CT scan the same day they should be able to use the IV for that as well. There's no recovery time from either test but I usually have someone go with me just so we can do something fun afterwards. Good luck with it.

Tolerating Zytiga better than Xtandi. Prednisone requirement means significant water retention and gynecomastia worse than with just Lupron or Xtandi. Depression and emotional lability not as bad. Also having a PSA response which didn't happen with Xtandi. The prednisone also may be helping the pain from mets in spine.

You'll be fine. Both scans aren't a problem unless you are claustrophobic. The nuclear bone scan puts the machine in front of your face. The zytiga comes in pill form you take daily. The pills are fairly large like a vitamin. I have to take 4 at a time. After everything we go through with this disease this is a breeze.

My buddy who is a fellow traveler on this journey started Zytiga a month or so ago. He had a hard time with the full (4 pill) dose so his doc put him on 1/2 dose (2 pills) and he got a good psa point drop the first month. So he is doing well with the 1/2 dose for now. Check with your doc and see if it makes sense in your case to do something similar.

I have had bone metastasis for 3 years (also adrenal and cerebellum) and been treated with radiation. I've only been on Zytiga for a few months but plan to also start Xofigo and Zometa. Don't want to get passive! Hope you do well. Also I welcome any suggestions/responses to my newest treatment plan.

I experienced no lasting side effects from Zytiga. I did have some very bad night sweats for first few nights. I would wake up totally drenched in sweat. That level of night sweats was new to me.

I've been on Zytiga AND Prednisone (they go together) for 9 months and have NO MAJOR issues. The only item I've experienced is about 5 months into the process my blood pressure started to climb quite noticeably. Increased my Lisinopril by 150% with no affect, HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE took care of it.. Prednisone raises BP

GOOD LUCK
