psa numbers

15 Months ago I had a psa of 850, 4 mets on bones, numerous lymph nodes infected, etc, etc. I figured I had maybe 24-36 months to live.

Yesterday after body scans, cat scans, etc, I was told all my nodes are normal size and my psa is undetectable.

Now i need something else to bitch to my wife about. Life is so damn unfair.

Amazing, what treatment plan did you follow?

As soon as I was diagnosed, I started casodex the same day. 1 week later they pumped me full of Lupron. I then started the Lupron/Chemo treatment based on the e3805 trial results. 6 courses of docetaxel (85mg) 3 weeks apart. That lasted 18 weeks. I now receive Lupron every 3 months and continue to take casodex.

The quacks, I mean doctors told me my fetish for exercise and vegan lifestyle has helped a lot.

Going on chemo right away was the best thing I ever did. My oncologists couldn't believe that I continued to run 5 miles every other day while getting poisoned with chemo.

I'm going to die when it's my turn, not when cancer decides.

And I thought I was lucky after three months into Lupron injection and daily 50mg Casodex pills my PSA went from 139 to 0.28, no metastasis. Radiation begins next month. Nicely said and congratulations.

I love that Joel . so hard to keep in mind when watching someone you love suffer as my dad is having a hard time with chemo for those of you that haven't done it, do not worry. my dad is also not eating right, taking on enormous stress and hes overweight and I feel that makes the difference too so don't be put off by my experience. thank Joel for the reminder
