One year and going strong. 59 Years old.

I was diagnosed after a biopsy in January 2015, had surgery to remove prostate, had a Gleason score of 6. Had surgery 3/25/2015 and ended up also having a nerve which was covered and a seminal vesicle tube both removed as well. After getting the results back my surgeon/urologist raised my Gleason score to 9. During the next eight weeks I can't acted C-Diff and had to get through that. Eight weeks later started 38 rounds of radiation. Here we are a year later and short of some urinary issues and bowel issues which I can live with if I have to, I am doing great and since surgery all five PSA tests have been 0.0 I read some of these posts and I feel truly blessed and know I have God on my side

Yes, you are truly lucky and blessed, and thanks for sharing this.      I'm not so lucky, but anyone who manages to successfully fight off the cancer is an inspiration to all of us, regardless.

Glad that so far things are going well.  Besides now living a healthy and happy life you must NEVER forget to follow up with your scheduled PSA tests.  Approximately 1/3 of us who have had primary treatment will end up having a prostate cancer recurrence.  Given your high Gleason score you are probably at a higher risk, so always remain vigilant.
