Stimulants and the importance of sodium

Soooooo,

Have chopped and changed meds like the wind trying to achieve what I felt when I first went on elvanse....Which was calm, focus, abilty to remember things...never seemed to achieve it..always feel a bit jittery so thought i Needed to lower dose, which obviousely doesnt work and i feel like I'm taking medication for no good reason (consultant has used the words overstimulated)

Have a friend who's been taking meds since he was 7, he's very knowledgable on meds and advised that the sodium affects the 'gates' or something or other and that i need to be on an even stronger dose..the jittery feeling is to do with the stimulant taking effect but not actually getting to the 'focus bit' which if it did i'd feel less jittery because i'd be focused

Anyone elses thoughts on this?

The jittery and the focus are 2 separate things, in my opinion. The nice feeling you had on elvanse ( Vyvanse in Canada) is the same I felt if I would take days off in between, ad the next upper dose was too much. I completely lost hope to find this feeling back. Maybe it was just a high!

I tried several times at least 4 different stimulants and never found back the super nice feeling Elvanse ( Vyvanse) gave me.

I’m not fully sure, but they are called amphetamine salts, and my docs say because of my low blood pressure, I need a lot more salt. I crave salty things a lot too.
