Cautious thrill seeker

does anyone have any tips for some non expensive and non life threatening excitement? I get a thrill from travel. Last year we did a road trip 3000 miles across the continent to the desert, it was amazing. Obviously I can’t do that regularly, what is something that will raise my dopamine levels like that ? Any suggestions?

is it dopamine or endorphins u r looking for?

endorphins are the quick immediate feel good chemicals we get when we do physical exercise or movement or something thrilling like a rollercoaster or sky diving

dopamine is the feel good chemical that is longer lasting. its the afterglow feeling we get after doing any activity we personally find enjoyable.

which one are u looking for?☀️

try public speaking, singing, performance of any kind. So you have a community theater group you could join? Choir might be too boring, but sing a solo and you’ll be jacked for a week.

doing a big hike in a place close to home you haven’t been at is interesting. Camping isn’t too expensive, so you could take a day trip and hike around each day.

I like going to zoos, since there are so many different animals I haven’t been at. If you go to your local community center, they also have some ideas. You can also pick destinations closer to home. I’ve been wanting to try coffee flights. It’s where there’s a group of small cups of coffee to try.

Oh! I forgot to add. Giving yourself a lot of cold showers/baths (ones that make you shiver), also raise dopamine. I don’t do it often but I feel the dopamine that way sometimes. I also play video games 😊
