I have been recently looking for treatment alternatives for my ADHD and I came across nicotine gum and nicotine patches. I was wondering if any of you guys have tried them and what your experience was with them.
Has anyone tried Nicotine Gum to trea... - CHADD's Adult ADH...
Has anyone tried Nicotine Gum to treat ADHD?
Not tried but from a medical viewpoint it may well work.
I’ve used nicotine gum to help me quit smoking. It can make you nauseated so you have to be careful. It’s an addictive substance, so you’d have to be cautious. I haven’t read the research on it, but personally it didn’t help my concentration very much. There are definitely worse things you could try!
Yes...for me...nic gum helps and patches...I use both with my meds.
my brother tried it to try and quit cigarettes. He’s diagnosed bipolar, schizoaffective and adhd. He didn’t see it help him with adhd. He’s also still addicted to smoking.
I have been on nicotine gum, lozenges and patches since I quit cigar smoking about 15 years ago. My doctors are fine with the nicotine replacement.
I understand that many people with ADHD are drawn to nicotine. But I'm not sure I consider it a treatment.
hello,
am i understanding this correctly that u would consider nicotine over stimulant meds? or maybe i completely misinterpreted your post.😂
