it would be awesome if meds could solve all those issues! 😊

But I’ve learned that you still need to activate yourself! Meds help, but if I stay on the couch… that’s it, also on meds…

Agree with Lesmills ... so many times I have to start working and then the energy comes ... I know: you can't start, you feel. This is where you can borrow from anti-procrastination techniques ... you set a 5 minute goal ... just do five minutes ... you set an alarm or timer ... after the five minutes ... and you can lower it to 2 minutes if you're really aruxk ... after the 5 or 2 minutes of taking some action, it is crazy how different you will feel.

Doing the task--starting the task is NEVER as painful as our brains predict when we feel paralyzed. And you start feeling like you accomplished something. I don't think I have set a big goal for a task in years ... I get paralyzed ... I have set 5 minute goals ... and ended up doing an hour ... and then resume ... setting another 5 minute goal ...

Also, make sure you're not depressed ... high rates of depression among people with ADHD. That needs to be treated and the ADHD med doesn't necessarily help ... some people have had such chronic lower grade depression for so long .. .and then guilt for not getting things down ... for so long ... that they can't even much notice it!

I find co-working or body-doubling helpful so I have some accountability.
