Happy New Year and "It's who you are and life can be hard sometimes."

I found out a member of my family was diagnosed with ADHD 10 years ago. His advice has been, "It's who you are and life can be hard sometimes."

So, I thought this poem was something to take with me into the New Year.

Thank you all for your advice just recently. I'm awaiting a diagnosis. My doctor says it going to be a long wait on the NHS and I'm not sure what a diagnosis on the NHS, or private, is going to do. I'll wait, but on the meantime, I'll look for my own strategies.

Happy new year Dave! Thankyou for the poem, I like it very much, it resonates (or rather reveberates!!) An "Official Diagnosis" is of use for Disability cover (although I note you have this already) and medication options (should you choose). And if you have kids who appear "likeminded", its useful for them if they need help too. Otherwise, pursuing your own educated options is definately the way to go. I am unware (so far) if there are a y further NHS services available for us. We fall outside of "mental health" services (we use DSMVI and ICD11 crit to diagnose but its not a mental health problem so we dont qualify without co-morbidities) so I think we are left with seeking out other services for assistance (I know autistic folks get reccomended NAS help). Anyway, back to the point, I wish you and yours a very happy, prosperous and above all Kind New Year 🙏💙💙😊😊
