I've been recently diagnosed with ADHD and PTSD at the age of 48. I would like to take a course on better understanding and managing my ADHD. It would be nice to have a support/accountability group tied into it, but not a must.
Any recommendations?
Thx!

The group Chadd.org offers online courses about ADHD. Alas, many of the university courses are more for a behavioral therapist or doctors viewpoint. Chadd also offers groups, etc. Check them out by going to their website at Http://chadd.org
Attitude Magazine is also a helpful resource and does give behavior ideas. Plus it has listing for therapists, etc.
Some excellent books are out there for us ADHD folks to learn and (hopefully) manage this condition better. Here's a few that I like (and others have mentioned)
1) Taking Charge of Adult ADHD by Russell Barkley and Chrisine Benton (2nd edition) This one helped me by breaking down how ADHD affects life in ALL different areas and also gives some useful things to counteract it
2) ADHD 2.0 by Hallowell and Ratey
3) CBT Training... The book I've read is called Mastering Your Adult ADHD: A Cognitive Behavior Workbook
BTW, there are ADHD coaches available, and therapy in CBT- look up recommended ones in the Attitude Magazine- they have extensive lists.
Hope these suggestions prove useful to you! Best luck on this journey called life.
